Tractable problems For problems such as distance matrix generation, we use sophisticated indexing systems which help achieve great performance on producing a large number of pairwise, road network distances between points.
Intractable problems Many of the problems our APIs handle are NP-Complete which means that for bigger problems, we’re sometimes not able to prove that we have an optimal solution to the problem provided. That said, we have a pool of heuristics that we use to find good solutions quickly in these cases.

User accounts Our system doesn’t store any user passwords. All your user-login information (such as passwords) is handled by Auth0 or through your third party login (such at google accounts). The only piece of personal information we store is your email address which is needed in order to trigger a password reset should it be required. We don’t share your account or sell your account information with any third parties.

General Icepack uses a common solver interface in the backend. This means that each model is reprojected from the modelling context to a context that makes it possible to solve efficiently and apply all learnings across other models to the current problem being solved.
What this also means is that if you have specific requirements that are not met by any of the models provided that doesn’t mean that our solvers don’t solve your problem - just that we haven’t provided that specific model to the public.

Free tier But I just want to try it out. We know, its frustrating when you can only read about something and not see it working for yourself. That is why we provide a free tier of services that you can play and experiment with. However, as usual, anything that is free usual has a few limitations, especially as we bear the cost of the computation. For this reason, the models that can be solved on the free instance are restricted in size and type.
